BULLDOG ROSTERS AND INFO - posted 4-29-09

*
•
West Bend Little League would like to thank everyone that participated in the Bulldog tryouts for 2009. The rain over the weekend was certainly a challenge, but with the generous contribution by Nick's All-star Academy, we were able to complete the tryouts. The process was an impressive competition, and all players should be proud of their efforts and abilities. In particular, there was very strong competition at the U12 age group. Many strong players did not make the team. There has been discussion of forming a second team, and a volunteer with substantial Bulldog and WBLL experience has stepped forward to coach that team. WBLL will support the team to the same extent that it supports the other traveling teams, if there is interest sufficient to create the team. If you have questions about this additional traveling team at the U12 level, please contact a member of the WBLL competition committee (Todd Lemke, Bill Schubert, Derek Berube, Armando Manresa)
•
At the U13 level, the bulldog team is still in the formation process. The team will be named as soon as the coaches have completed the player selection process. At the U14 level, there were only a couple of players that expressed interest, and so, unless a team can be formed quickly, there will be no U14 Bulldog team this year.

Congratulations to all players that participated, and to those selected. If a selected player would like to decline the invitation, please do so quickly, as uniforms are being ordered immediately. Please click this link for the rosters. Click Here

Concessions Opportunity - posted 2-10-09

Parents who are interested in working in the concession stand for pay are encouraged to contact Sally Heuer. Hours spent working in the concessions do not defer your obligations to work your volunteer hours for the team(s) you are a part of. There will be a limited amount of hours available, so it will be first come, first served. Please plan on meeting Sally at one of the upcoming Spring work weekends in April.

Rule Changes for Baseball Bats - posted 2-25-09

*

A new rule that is in effect starting this year is in regard to non-wood bats used. The rule covers two important points: 1-For Junior League, the maximum barrel size of bats used has been reduced from 2 and 3/4 inches to a maximum of 2 and 5/8 inches. 2-For Major Division and lower, bats used must have the BPF rating printed on them. The BPF rating also has to be 1.15 or lower. The BPF rating is a measurement of how much a baseball rebounds after being struck by the bat. In order to provide the safest environment possible on the smaller diamonds, this rule was put into effect. Please double check all bats for compliancy to these rules. Umpires will be looking for this before the games.
